SpaceX Successfully Launches Starship V3 Rocket on Test Flight

SpaceX successfully conducted a test flight of its Starship V3 rocket from Texas on Friday, following a brief delay. Both BBC News and Aaj Tak reported that the uncrewed Starship is the largest and most powerful rocket ever built. The launch, which occurred just after 17:30 (22:30 GMT), was initially scheduled for Thursday but was postponed due to a launch-tower malfunction, identified by Aaj Tak as a hydraulic pin failure. The test flight lasted approximately one hour, during which the Starship deployed 20 dummy satellites, according to BBC News. The mission concluded with a planned splashdown in the Indian Ocean. Both sources confirmed that the rocket exploded upon impact, a pre-planned event by SpaceX, which stated that the destruction in the ocean was an intended part of the test sequence. Following the successful flight, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted on X, congratulating his team on an "epic" launch and landing, adding that they "scored a goal for humanity." This launch occurred days after SpaceX reportedly revealed plans for a significant stock market debut, as noted by BBC News.
